My Story

After the birth of my first child, I was diagnosed with post natal PTSD and OCD which lead to Post Natal Depression. Whilst I received good support from the Family Nursing team, it was an act of kindness from a mum I had met at a baby class that triggered my recovery. A bunch of flowers, delivered to my door, with a note saying 'you're smashing it Mumma' and I was reduced to tears. I couldn't quite believe that someone could be so thoughtful to someone they had only recently met. It inspired me to get out in my garden and start to grow my own flowers. The joy I felt in watching them grow from seeds to beautiful blooms that year was, in a way, a metamorphosis that I myself was going through in my journey into motherhood. As I welcomed my second child into the world in 2024, I felt much more prepared for the emotional rollercoaster that is postpartum life. I use my garden to help my mental wellbeing. And that is when I thought that perhaps it was now my turn to spread some joy, through flowers.  I set up 'The Wonky Garden' to grow cut flowers and create bouquets for those who deserve some kindness in their lives. To make sure my business is sustainable, I do everything myself (with a helping hand from my wonderful husband) we also sell gardening-related items and earn through affiliate programs with our favourite gardening suppliers.
